pharma.be is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced full-time colleague to reinforce its legal experts team in Brussels.

pharma.be, located in Brussels, is the voice of the innovative Belgian - human and veterinary medicine - pharmaceutical industry. As interest group it represents 130 small and large innovative (bio)pharmaceutical companies and is the center of excellence for the industry. Our members are a major contributor to the Belgian economy. They supply 80 per cent of all medicines used in Belgium and have 34000 employees.

pharma.be is recognised by the government as the association to negotiate on behalf of the innovative biopharmaceutical industry with the Minister of Health, the Minister of Economy, and national bodies such as the National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance (RIZIV/INAMI) and the Federal Agency for Medicines and Health Products (FAGG/AFMPS). It also maintains close contacts with the representative associations of patients, physicians, veterinarians, pharmacists and social security funds. Working at the heart of the policy development and decision-making, our aim is to ensure that patients are able to benefit from the latest and most advanced medicines.

The follow-up of the legal, ethical and deontological framework of the sector is an essential function for pharma.be. To strengthen the impact of pharma.be in the legal, ethical and deontological aspects related to the association, internally and externally, pharma.be is looking to strengthen its team with a Legal Expert.

Key Responsibilities and Job Functions

-You are responsible for the follow-up and interpretation of national, European and international compliance and legal information about the pharmaceutical industry and the health sector.

-You are able to issue clear and concise opinions, visions and conclusions.

-You give consultancy at the request of member companies on compliance and legal issues within the pharmaceutical and healthcare environment.

-You give support to fellow experts in their field (regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, supply chain issues, environment, disclaimers, contracts, IP, website...).

-You keep our members up to date with the latest compliance, legal and deontological issues by sharing this information with them through our extranet, newsletters, information sessions and working groups.

-You participate actively in pharma.be’s working groups (Legal Committee, National Ethics Group and Task Force Ethics) where member companies discuss and develop their points of view in relation to legal, compliance and deontological policy.

-You follow up deontological and judicial procedures.

-You have an active role as a teacher in our pharmacademy regarding legal and compliance issues. You have a keen interest in compliance topics and are actively involved in facilitating the compliance environment for our members and taking part in developments in that field.

Desired Skills and Experience

You obtained a License or Master Degree in law and have a good general knowledge and interest, with at least 3 years of experience working in a legal position; experience at the bar and in a pharmaceutical company is a plus.

-You are a dynamic and ambitious professional willing to gain insight in and be part of the pharmaceutical policy in Belgium, with a special focus on compliance, legal and deontological issues.

-You are able to manage a challenging workload.

-You are Trilingual (F, N, E) and strong in verbal and written communication.

-You are able to speak publically and have strong presentation skills.

-You are able to work independently and as a team member; you have the ability to collaborate with others to leverage internal expertise and achieve mutual objectives.

-Flexibility, collegiality and sense of initiative are decisive personality factors.

-You are a diplomat and an analytical and strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills.

-You are service-oriented towards our member companies and pay attention to their needs and provide customized assistance.
